Léopold Savoie

C’est avec une immense tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de M. Léopold « Poulou » Savoie, survenu à l’Hôpital de Tracadie, le mardi 13 avril 2021, à l’âge de 67 ans. Il demeurait à Pointe-à-Tom. Né le 19 février 1954, il était fils de feu Homer Savoie et d’Antonia « Tonia » Benoit.
Outre sa mère, il laisse dans le deuil deux filles : Renée Nicole « Nikki » et Bonnie; deux fils : Peter Alexander (Jacquie) et Paul Jamieson « Hop Sing Part »; huit petits-enfants : Caitlin, Emily, Evan, Alexis, Ryler, Russel, Brenna et Mykayla; deux arrière-petits-enfants : Jackson et Penelope; ses frères et sœurs : Anne (Guy), Louis (Katie), Robert (Maria), Sandra (Laurier), Jacques (Joanne), Clovis (Darlene), Denis, Terry (Manon), Gerene (Robert) et Gail (François); un gendre, Brian; son animal de compagnie, Dirt, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines et de nombreux ami(e)s.

Une sœur, Marlène (2012), l’a précédé dans la tombe.

M. Savoie était un ancien combattant. Il était un ingénieur en plomberie.

La famille recevra parents et amis à compter de midi, le mardi 20 avril, à la Maison Funéraire Robichaud & Fils, 3875, rue Principale à Tracadie. Une célébration de la vie aura lieu à la Maison Funéraire Robichaud & Fils, le mardi 20 avril, à 14h, sur invitation seulement. La règlementation sur la distanciation sociale sera en vigueur. Le port du masque sera obligatoire pour entrer dans le salon funéraire.

Heures de visites ouvertes au public: mardi 20 avril, de midi à 14h.

Au lieu de fleurs, un don à « Wounded Warriors Canada » serait apprécié.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Léopold "Poulou" Savoie, at the Tracadie Hospital, on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the age of 67. He lived in Pointe-à-Tom. Born on February 19, 1954, he was the son of the late Homer Savoie and Antonia “Tonia” Benoit.

Besides his mother, he’s survived by two daughters: Renée Nicole "Nikki" and Bonnie; two sons: Peter Alexander (Jacquie) and Paul Jamieson "Hop Sing Part"; eight grandchildren: Caitlin, Emily, Evan, Alexis, Ryler, Russel, Brenna and Mykayla; two great-grandchildren: Jackson and Penelope; his siblings: Anne (Guy), Louis (Katie), Robert (Maria), Sandra (Laurier), Jacques (Joanne), Clovis (Darlene), Denis, Terry (Manon), Gerene (Robert) and Gail (François ); one son-in-law, Brian; his companion, Dirt, as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins ​​and many friends.

Predeceased by his sister, Marlène (2012).

Mr. Savoie was a veteran. While serving in the military as a plumber with the enginer trade.

The family will receive relatives and friends from noon on Tuesday, April 20, at the Robichaud & Fils Funeral Home, 3875, rue Principale in Tracadie. A celebration of life will be held at the Robichaud & Fils Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 20, at 2 p.m., by invitation only. Social distancing regulations will be in effect. Wearing a mask will be mandatory to enter the funeral home.

Visiting hours open to the public: Tuesday April 20, from noon to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Wounded Warriors Canada would be appreciated.
